Big Pinhead is a miniboss in Contra: Shattered Soldier.
Description[]
Big Pinhead is a semi-mechanical lifeform that resembles a human head. It floats around while firing ring-shaped lasers, as pieces of it fall off while it is damaged, revealing a brain inside it. It also fires twin laser beams on opposite sides of the floor that move in and cross, trying to nail the player. After its face is fully removed, its true form is revealed and it then starts floating around dropping projectiles, as well as firing a powerful beam from underneath, until it takes enough damage and fades away.

- The ring lasers fired from this boss are reminiscent of the ion rings emitted by the Moai enemy from the Gradius series, also by Konami.
